Hello,
I'm lovepoke. I got my iPod for Christmas and I had a reasonable amount of space on my hard drive. Right now, I have 2GB of music on my hard drive and my hard drive can only store 6GB of information. I have hardly any programs on my hard drive except Microsoft Office, iTunes and the other essentials. I have almost nothing in My Documents. Right now, I only have 300MB of space left and my music collection is growing! I don't want to delete my collection. I also have a 512MB flash drive. Any suggestions? Thanks.

buy an external hard drive with adequate storage and relocate your iTunes library to it. Firewire is best, so you may need a firewire card for your iPod and hard drive.

Thank you. How much do Firewire cards cost and an external drive cost?

Do you have a laptop? If not, its not too hard too install an internal hard drive and you can get them VERY cheap on sale (under $50 for 80GB or more).

Time to get a new hard drive.

A 250 gb drive is like 120$. And all that space is sooooooo worth it.

I have a laptop. I connect my iPod via firewire 400 which is added via cardbus. If I wanted an external harddrive (I have about 6GB left and can see me running out quickly) and wanted to put my iTunes library on it, connecting viz Firewire, how could I get those songs from the iTunes library to the iPod when they use the same firewire connection?

What I would do in your situation is make the ipod update manually and keep all your music on your ipod.

if you have a lot of extra room on your ipod, you can store you music on it so you can listen to it, and another time in disk mode.
