Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. i have a 3rd generation 15gb ipod and right now it works fine on an HP computer that i have. it connects though a firewire port. i want to set up my ipod on another computer that i built because i will be moving and i will not be taking the HP with me
when i try connecting the ipod to the computer i built windows does not recognize it. I am trying to connect it using a USB port. in device manager it says unknown device and it says no driver installed. There is no exclamation mark or anything
I tried to set it up using the CD and when it asks me to plug the ipod in so it can be configured for use with windows i plug it in but it wont let me click OK.
A couple times random times it did work and all my songs appeared in itunes. but for some strange reason it disabled my internet connection (this computer is on a wireless home network and my HP computer is not)
im not sure what i should do or if there is a solution to my problem.. should i buy a firewire card. and i dont know why it would cause my internet connection to drop (i have a linksys wireless USB adapter)
i am running a 3GHz P4...Windows XP home...service pack 2....a linksys wireless USB adapter.....and im connecting through a USB port (no firewire port).......and i have tried to use other USB ports also
appreciate any help. thanks
