I want to buy a FM trnsmitter for my iPod photo. I've read a lot of reviews about them and it seems that the Griffin iTrip and the XtremeMac AirPlay are the 2 best transmitters. I can't really make up my mind. So it would be awesome if u could just give me your opinion or personel experience.

i purchased the airplay first. after 10 minutes i decided to return it. maybe it's just my car/deck/area, but i couldn't get anything but static.

i've had a very good experience with the itrip. i know a few friends who are also happy with it. we live in the san francisco bay area.

i've read through so many threads on this subject, and everyone's experience is very unique and personal. i really think the performance of each depends on so many factors (car model, deck type, antennae placement, geographical area) that you'll get a range of experiences. i think the best bet would be to find out what most ipod owners in your area are happy with.

oh, i also tried the monster fm transmitter. this is the one recommended by the apple store employees. i found the itrip to be superior (no wires to mess with, either). good luck!

Like aestra said the itrip is great depending on what car your drive and your geographical location. If your antenna is in the front of the car, you fine. If it's in the back, and especially if it's on the back of the roof then you may get static.

I know my itrip was great in a suzuki vitaria and GMC pickup. But it would not work very well in my mazda3, due to the fact that the antenna is on the back of the roof (right about the rear window).

I returned the itrip and bought the monstar icarplay transmitter and find it's more powerful. I rarely get any static, plus it charges my ipod rather then drain it. The only down side is it's pretty much an incar transmitter due to the need of a cigerette lighter socket.

I just picked up an iTrip mini and I love it. It sounds great (not expecting it to sound like a CD, of course) and it's really convenient. I have two cars, one for work and one for personal use, so to be able to move from car to car without any hassle is nice. I'm keeping mine.

If you decide on the iTrip, check out Amazon for decent pricing.

i have an iTrip and it's great, the only gripe is that to retune it you have to stop what you are currently playing, the AirPlay can be changed as you are playing. Other that that the iTrip is great and i reccomend it, i have not tested an AirPlay tho, so they may be better but i do not know

if i read right somewhere for the itrip u have to play signals to change the station well if thats right are those signals considered files and would they get mixed up with real music files if u shuffle ur songs?
