i was looking into getting an i pod and i really want to get it working in my car, my current head unit doesnt support mp3's, (kdc-419) and i dont want to buy a new head unit, so i was thinking of just doing the fm transmitter seeing as i get great radio reception in my area.

i was wondering what the best transmitter out there is. i was looking at the Itrip, seems nice, but it doesnt have a display on it, a holder or a charger.

i was looking at the Monster iCarPlay Wireless PLUS, i like the digital display and the charging feature, and its more expensive, bu justifiably so. i would still need some kind of holder as well.

so which transmitter would you recommend, and what kind of holder would be best (fits with an i skin).

btw my attenna is on the fron of my car (2001 neon)

actually my head unit has 2 sets or rca cables on it (one set is used for an amp). so i only need a rca to a mini plug to play music from the i pod to the head unit, i dont care about being able to control the ipod through the headunit....so this is the only cord i would need to buy? and i can just plug a charger into it on the bottom right and i will be all set?

You should be all set then if your stereo already has an aux in. Since you are planning to buy a charger anyway what I would do is either buy the belkin auto kit or the sik imp which have a ports for the 1/8 cable and it goes to the charger so you just plug the dock connector into the bottom and you get line quality sound and it charges your ipod

ok thanks, i was wondering about the auto kit, is the sik imp better? or are they both the same?

so instead of plugging the mini jack into the Ipod, i just plug it into the auto kit cig adapter? if thats the case that one less wire running into the ipod, so the only think i would have to plug in is the dock connector?

I think they are pretty much both the same the only difference I know of is that the belkin auto kit has an amplifier built into it so you can turn the volume up from the belkin kit and your stereo to make sure you get the right level
