I recently traded ipods with my brother. (I don't know why, but he wanted the cool touch buttons on my 10 GB 3G, and I wanted more space so it worked out well).
I grabbed his ipod and stuck it into my computer. After installing the new updater, I formatted the drive (using the ipod softwear) like it told me and downloaded the library. The next time I put it in, the same message came up "Ipod not readable, please reformat the drive". I do so, and re-sync about 1500 songs. This is the third time, and I'm not sure what to do. IT takes me about 30 minutes to get the updater softwear working (after restarting my computer and ipod several times) and itunes simply refuses to see my ipod. I have the newest version of itunes, I beleive.
It would be nice if someone could give me any ideas on what to do...
