Does anyone know where I could find the original iPod font "chicago" to download, as I installed a different one, but wish to put it back to the original font. Ihave tried restoring original settings but the font still stays the same.
Thanks

you can just download and install the apple iPod updater again, from the apple website.

But even if i do restore original settings, the font stays the same, so chicago doesn't come back

I have PM'd yo if you need the font - but are you resetting the iPod via the iPod or via the updater software. Redownloading the updater and restoring should do the trick - update won't work if its the same version. Note - restoring from software will remove the music.

If you can access your iPod via the 'Windows Exploror' (makeing sure to have all the propper settings like 'Show hidden Files & Folders' set),. You can edit your 'x:\iTunes_Control\Devices\SysInfo File.
Open it either in Wordpad you should see something like this:
BoardHwName: iPod ###
pszSerialNumber: ###########
ModelNumStr: #####
FirewireGuid: #x########
HddFirmwareRev: ######
RegionCode: ##(#x####)
PolicyFlags: #x########
buildID: 0x02308000 (2.3)
visibleBuildID: 0x02308000 (2.3)
boardHwRev: #x######## (#.# #)
boardHwSwInterfaceRev: #x######## (#.#.# #)
bootLoaderImageRev: #x######## (#.#.# #)
diskModeImageRev: #x######## (#.# #)
diagImageRev: #x######## (#.# #)
osImageRev: #x######## (#.# #)
iPodFamily: #x########
updaterFamily: #x########
oemv: #x########
Just edit these two lines (yes your Numbers may variy it's quite ok!), to.
buildID: 0x02308000 (2.1)
visibleBuildID: 0x02308000 (2.1)
Or whatever the prior version was prior to the one you are currently running. Close Wordpad. If it asks you to save the File choose 'Yes'.
Now you can safely 'Update' your iPod as you have [i]convinced it[i] that it is in fact running an older iPodOS ver. and thuss needs to be 'updated' If you don't do this you can not 'update' as there is nothing to 'update' and so you will only be left with the option to do a 'Restore' (i.e. Reformat), (i.e. i.e. you will loose everything on that iPod),...
