Hi im try to find out if i can use an ipod like any other normal mp3 player by just draging and dropping mp3 straight in to a folder and not use iTune is this possible.

Not without some kind of third party software.
Anapod will, sorta, allow you to drag and drop. I'm sure others will too. Check out the download section.

What's your beef with iTunes? Is it the whole syncing thing, when if you remove the songs from your library, you lose the iPod stuff if you sync it? I use RealPlayer, only because I use Windows 98, mind you, but it doesn't use the syncing system.

Thanks spot1701 this is better but i just expect to be able to drag and drop music on to the ipod like you do with other i dident realise it had to be done with itune's or any other 3rd party software, so as mistteam put's it my beef isent with itune it just the method which im force to put music on the ipod, although the are some linux distro which will go on the ipod i may have a look in to these.
