Hi,

I have a serious problem. I have an iPod mini 4 gig and have the latest iTunes installed. I'm using a very recent Packard Bell laptop

Every time when I import a cd in iTunes after a song or 3 my laptop suddenly shut's down itself.

This happens whith my friend's laptop and mini aswel.

Is there anything I can do?

Thanks for the help.

Does anyone have a resolution for this? My daughter just got an iPod mini, and whenever she is importing songs with iTunes (the iPod is NOT connected; Norton AV is disabled), the system shuts itself down after importing a few songs. Now, admittedly, this is a 4-year old laptop. But I have XP SP2 installed, and have made sure all the drivers, etc. are updated. Any suggestions, even a workaround?

Thanks,
Reza

OK, I think it's fixed now! I turned off Norton, and turned on iTunes’ “Use error correction when reading audio CDs"; but still had the problem. The error correction setting seems to have reduced the reading speed from 6x-7x to 5x-6x.

I then installed iTunes 4.9, and lo and behold, we are good now. Norton is still off, and error correction is still on. The reading speed is 3.5x-4.5x. Looks like we are speed-sensitive.

Cheers,
Reza
