I have a similar problem and hope someone can help. My 14 month old Sony PC's hard drive crashed. At just two months out of mfgr. warranty nothing was backed up (a lesson here!). It is under Comp USA protection and a new hard drive has been ordered. I will take up my unhappy state of mind with Sony, because my tunes and most else on the 250 GB hard drive could not be recovered. My iPod is fine though full of music and love.
In a few days I will bring home my computer with its new hard drive as a clean slate.
How do I load the library on my ipod UP to my hard drive? I don't care about my playlists or play count or some of the smaller aspects; I just want my tunes!
Any ideas appreciated and well wishes!
thanks, Laura
