i just bought a 4G iPod 20 GB and the sony cassette adapter a couple of days ago.

I put the cassette adapter in car cassette player and connected my ipod.

For some reason I get this static noise in the background and i really cant turn the volume up that high. The iPod volume is on max. In other words the sound is pretty bad.

I kind of fixed the static by lowing the treble almost all the way.

The sony cassette adapter is supposed to be the best out there, so is there something im doing wrong? Does the cassette need to be fliped to the other side?

help me out here guys/gals?

thanks!

Seriously, try another (brand of) cassette adapter. In my experience name and price do not equate to better sound for these things. The one I use is a no name cheapy and it's much better than the two name brand ones I tried first. It seems that you have to find the adpter that works best with your player.

You may also want to try cleaning the inside of your cassette deck using a good cassette cleaning product.
