Ok, i'm sure this question has been asked a million times, and I really apologize for the repost. But how exactly can you listen to you I-Pods in your car without having to use an FM Transmitter? Isn't there some way to just plug in straight into a headphone jack or something? I have a fairly new Sony mp3 compatible CD Player. Is there a way to do this, or is it only able to happen through FM Transmitter? Thank you!!

You can buy a CD to Cassette adapter, where the cassette goes into the tape deck like normal, and a wire attached to the cassette plugs into the headphone port of the iPod just like regular headphones, and just hit play on the deck. That's what I use.

If you don't have a cassete adapter then you could use the transmitter. There are some adapters that you can find on the manfacturers website to see if your player allows you to get adapters like an RCA jack, or some even allow you to buy ipod adapters. Check on the manufactuers website for sure.

You can get an FM Modulator...

Still only FM quality signal, however, but without the issues of being blocked by outside tranmissions that transmitters have.

Personally, I have a Griffen iTrip, and it works great.

Does your Sony player have an input jack? if so, you can just plug the iPod in directly.

Yeah, that's what i'm looking for. I really would like to have the absolute best quality, so i'm looking for some kind of direct input. It's a new Sony deck that is XM radio compatible, almost positive it can handle a CD Changer. So, I should find out if it has RCA INPUTS, and if it does, I could just plug the IPod directly into that, and it should play just as high quality as it would through head phones? I'm really not a savvy on all this stuff, I just really like music. I'm not all about the FM Transmitter. Tomorrow, I will post a link of my actual deck (if possible), and see if it would be an option to have it plugged directly into my stero so that I wouldn't lose any quality.

But, if it does have direct RCA inputs, what part do i need to buy to make that connection?

if you have RCA input buy a headphone jack to rca y cable. if you dont see if you have a prorpietary aux input, many head units do, and theres products that will plug int othere and provide an RCA jack
