I bought the IP500 along with the Kenwood 4531 stereo thinking it would control my iPod like the LCD display. After playing around for a few hours, I found it useless! It was virtually impossible to choose and artist and you would have to let it play for about 5 seconds before the artist name apeared, so you had to remember how far along in the alphabet it was and guess - picking the right artist usually took 10 goes and took minutes. I took it back and replaced it with the 'CD changer to aux import' converter and it works much better. I've got my iPod charging with the Belkin Auto Kit and the iPod in an accessible cradle with all the wires nicely hidden out of the way am very happy!

^Yea.. For a quick way to get to a certain artist, just disconnect the ipod and select it that way.

Personally i just like it to shuffle randomly through the songs, i only have 2000 songs on my ipod, but i love 90% of the songs on there, so there is no need skip many songs.

Therefore, depending on your need, the IP-500 works great for me, displaying Artist and Songtitle on the deck, and shuffling through my favourite songs.
