Graduation Gift

My boyfriend will be graduating highschool in two weeks, and following that event will be his 18th birthday and our 3 year "anniversary". I was trying to come up with something special to give him as a gift and I know he's been dying for an iPod of his own for a long time now - his eyes have been on the blue iPod mini...
So, here are my questions:
- Has anyone here used the Apple credit program to purchase thier iPod? With the help of parentals, I've been considering this.

- What would make the perfect gift-set for a college bound guy?
Since I was planning on this being one big gift to cover all three gift-giving events, I figured I'd check into some cool accessories.
I'm only used to Google-ing for girlie pink things for my personal iPod though, so I could use any help.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't recomend any of those however, because a lot of the accessories in the gift sets are unnecessary and just serve the purpose of running up the price..

Maybe it will give you a few ideas though.

I'd have to recomend something like an iTrip and maybe, if you're really willing to drop some money on him, buy him a set of speakers or something...

What I probably want for my Graduation would be:
(If I didn't have my iPod Mini)

1. iPod Mini 4 or 6 GB
2. Nice Case for iPod Mini
3. Speaker (JBL or Altec Lansing)
4. Nice Earphone (Sony, Shure, Etymotic)

This would cost about $350 ~$400.

I may go with the blue iPod mini 4 GB (wouldn't want his to be better than mine...lol), and possably the Marware Sportsuit Convertible case (to protect it while he's at the gym etc.). Also, I'd really like to get him iTrip but don't want to pay another $39.99... anyone know of a better offer?

I think you just missed a deal. Last week I saw the CompUSA ad, and they were giving out a free iTrip with the purchase of an iPod mini
