Obviously, we are aware that there is a wide variety of covers, skins, out there for the iPod.

so i am a little confused as to which one is better? my criteria

is functionality (i.e. you got to be able to use the controls on the device, hence metal armour is definitely out)

protection (must be able protect the notorious behind surface of the iPod from being scratched)

on a sidenote, do people protect the clickwheel and the LCD screen?

o yar, those skins from decalgirl, are they a sufficient form of protection?

i am looking at silicone cases, any opinions?

I have the iSkin evo 2, white and find that it offers fantastic protection all round. There is a gap for the click wheel, with optional click wheel protector. There is also a plastic sheet to go over the screen, with rubber pads to ensure no scratches.
The iSkin also has a belt clip, which can be removed quickly nd easily. There are gaps for the cables and headphones etc meaning the iPod will never have to leave the case!
The iSkin will set you back about £20 which is about $35/40 i think (please correct me if im wrong!) which seems hefty, but is worth it for complete protection!

You won't find the reviews on this site, they're a truely gentleman's brand. Expect to pay a fair bit, although you will officially be the coolest person anyone will know. Their products are crafted from the finest materials, and nothing compares. So far I've only had the pleasure of holding one, and that was without the iPod in it.

another reason i like using a skin from decalgirl on mine, is that i can pull it out of my bodyglove case without the zipper or stitching scratching it
