Help request for the Known Apache Bug with Doug's "Re-Add Selected Tracks as Podcast"

Hi.

I'm looking for help with the known Apache Bug mentioned when trying to use Doug's script for iTunes (Re-Add Selected Tracks as Podcast).

On Doug's site he mentions 2 possible forums that have helped people in the past.

Though I'm new to terminal, I tried the one that recommended typing "sudo mkdir /private/var/log/apache2"... with no luck.

The second suggestion was a bit too unclear for me (since I've never used Terminal and I didn't want to mess things up on my laptop).

Can anyone help with a simple explanation on how they may have cured the same problem?

Thanks.

Did you update to Leopard from Tiger? If so, try this:
1) Open System Prefs -> Sharing -> Services and uncheck the box for Personal Web Sharing; close the prefs window.

2) Open Terminal; paste the text from this next line into the Terminal window:
sudo cp /private/etc/httpd/users/* /private/etc/apache2/users/

Then press the Return key. Quit Terminal

3) Open System Prefs -> Sharing -> Services and check the box for Personal Web Sharing. Then click on the Firewall tab; if your firewall is turned on, you will be able to check the box for Personal Web Sharing -- do so. Close the prefs window.

4) Now open a web browser page and enter this address:
http://localhost

and if you don't get an error message, I think you're good to go.

I don't know who lies behind your mask, but S2_Mac has saved the day!

It works perfectly - thank you (especially for the step by step and the paste text section).

Now if I could just learn to use terminal so I could help others (instead of needing the help myself)...
