Export smaller MP3s

I've been looking for a script that will enable me to keep the iTunes import settings at a fairly high quality level normally, but that will then allow selected files to be exported using different (preferably preset) settings to produce smaller files to go onto a phone. Does anyone know of such a script?

Thanks

You can't set encoder options via Applescript; the best you can do is make a certain encoder the current encoder (and use its existing option settings). Of course, this is no problem if your "high quality" encoder is something like AIFF or Apple Lossless and your lossy files will be mp3; for dealing with mp3 across the board (or AAC), you'll have to make two passes, adjusting encoder options in between.
