Exclamation Official iPod Camera Connector Compatibilty thread

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. According to this link on the Apple website, a lot of cameras that are not listed as being compatible that very well may work with the iPod Camera Connector device.

I am starting this thread for users who have cameras that are not listed on the official site to post results of their attempts to use the connector with different cameras.

If you have a connector (in the coming weeks I assume more people will have them), you can help to contribute to this list by trying the connector with your camera (as well as other cameras you can get ahold of) and posting results here.

I just wanted to create this one thread for this so that there aren't a zillion different threads for each possible model of camera.

I have a Canon S300, so if/when anyone gets around to trying that particular model out, please post your results.

Thank you.

No offense meant to your noble intent, but isn't Apple pretty straightforward on which cameras (and readers) are supported on their support pages?
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301052

Anyone with half a brain should be able to look into the instructions of his camera (or even onlione support pages) to see whether it supports one of the following USB modes:
- PTP
- Type 4 (or Normal)
- Mass Storage

Maybe some people find it useful to scroll through a thread with a "zillion" replies like "xyz does work" and "mine too" and likewise, but it shouldn't be necessary if the answer is there at your fingertips I guess...

(Correct me if I am wrong...)

No offense taken, but no, that is not what this is.

The Apple site has a long list of compatible cameras, but TONS of older model cameras (that seem like they should work) are not listed.

The purpose of this thread was not/is not to duplicate the list that Apple published, but rather to expand on that list with our own experiences of what UNLISTED cameras ALSO work.

I have a Canon Powershot S300. It is not listed on that site, because it is no longer being produced. This does not mean that it will not work, it just means that Apple hasn't bothered to check. My intention was to have the iPodLounge community fill in those kinds of gaps in this thread.

Hope that helps to explain.

IXUS 40

The Canon Digital IXUS 40 works with Apples camera connector. It's a relatively new camera.

Talking Just received my ipod camera connector

I just received my ipod camera connector. Tried it with a Canon G2 and a Pentax Optio S4, both worked flawlessly! Was able to import pictures and view them on the ipod. A great accessory. A little slow on the import, like the belkin card reader, but hey, what the heck. Now I can not only import the pics to the ipod, but view them as well.
