does it use one of the supported protocols? If so, it should work. If not, :-(

Works on all my cameras

I have no problem using the ipod with the connector on my Canon 20D, 300D Digi Rebel, as well as the 350XT. I'm a professional photographer and in the field I use a digital wallet to off load my images when my cards fill up, but the Ipod is always a nice option if something goes wrong with my digital wallet.

Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 15-in-1 Media reader

The "Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 15-in-1 Media reader", F5U249ea, works with the apple Camera Connector.

Besides my sony cybershot DSC-P32 (wich works directly on the camera connector) I also have a PDA that makes photo's. These photos are stored on a 256 MB SD card. So that's why i checked for a compatible card reader, and bought it.

Since the PDA doesn't create a DCIM folder, i dod it myself as follows:
DCIM/100SOMETHING/IMG_00001.jpg
In there i put the photos, numbered IMG_00001 and onwords (as done in the cannon cameras)

The iPod recognizes the card, the photos and imports them and shows them during import.
BUT! then i click 'done' and instead of going to the photos, the ipod goes one menu back.
It does import the file, even makes thumbnails, but it doesn't make an album. I cannot see my pictures on the ipod after importing them.
Anybody know what to do??

Thanks,
bart

NOTE:
if i use the structure of the cybershot memory stick, DCIM/101MSDCF/, on my SD card, it only copies the photos, but doesn't make a "Rol" album. If i copy the photos from the SD card to the Memory Stick, and put this one in the card reader, then it DOES add these photos to the iPod photo-rolls. Hope i'm still clear.. and hope somebody knows where i go wrong!

getting pictures off ipod and on computer

Im goin to europe this tuesday (6-20) and instead of buy a whole bunch of sony memory sticks at 60 buck each for 1G i bought this picture thing. How do i get the pictures i put on the ipod from my camera onto my computer at home? It's windows XP not a mac, i dk if that matters. Is there a program to use or an easy method? The HD mode just shows "thumbnails" and what not. Thanks for the help

I found a relatively cheap ($30 USD) way to charge my iPod while transferring photos with the camera connector:

Fujifilm S5600/5200 works fine BUT make sure you turn off the power saving feature on the camera before you transfer, or it will turn off and force you to reset your ipod.

I'm heading to Europe in a few weeks and I'd already purchased this and the travel adapters to keep my ipod(s) charged. Has anyone gone from US to Europe and had any trouble with keeping it charged?

Thanks!

Any rumours on when Apple or anyone else will come out with a camera connector that:

1) allows you to keep powering up (preferably via a plug) while you connect; and

2) transfers at USB 2.0 speeds

Does this mean you can plug the memory card into the Belkin and plug that into the Camera Connector?

This would eliminate the problem of draining the camera's battery.

Does some one knows if it works with the iPod classic ? If not, do you know if it exists a similar accessorie for the iPod classic ?

Have you tested it with the Nikon D70 ?

Thank you.

just check if the Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1000 can connect to iPod chassis.

Will be nice if I can have my pictures and videos backup on the iPod!

The iPod Classic does not support the camera connector as pictured on this thread.

Does anyone know of a connector or Media Reader that will work with iPod Classic?

Is there any way to keep the iPod from going to sleep during the transfer? When transferring a 2 GB card from my Nikon D50 to the ipod, I have to touch the clickwheel every few minutes to keep the thing from going to sleep, or else the transfer will crash. Since it takes 20-30 minutes to do this, it's pretty annoying and means I can't leave it to transfer while I do something else.
