Stock iPOD Earphones

I've barely had my iPOD more than two weeks and there's something wrong with my earphones already. The left one makes a clicking staticky kind of sound that gets louder as you turn the volume up more. Is there a reason it's doing this? I've got a pair of Sony headphones that have actually got a nicer sound to them but I'm just curious why they don't work before I ask to get a new pair from Best Buy.

If you check out this link at the apple website you can get a pair free, just fill out the information.

http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/

All can be found at that site.

Exactly what I was thinking.

There are a bunch of posts about this. Try sucking on the headphone, it was recomended on this site, and it worked on mine.

ALERT: The factory headphones blow.

I would definately reccommend buying some kind of aftermarket headphones. I personally have Bose Triports, the kind in the apple store they use to demo all the ipods. Excellent. A bit pricey at $150, but well worth it if you use your pod all the time.

Bose Triports are a terrible value for the sound quality you get, in my opinion. For about half the price can get a decent set of entry-level Sennheisers or Grados that'll blow the crap out of the Bose.

Do some in-depth research before you find-out that the Triports aren't worth shelling $150 for.

Bah, I love em. Actually, I didn't pay all 150. 90 of it was bonus money from my job. So I don't feel that bad purchasing them. I don't really care though, I would have payed full price in the end.
