my little brother has just told me that he saw someone with a clear ipod body in which u could see right through the ipod..i was wondering if anyone knows where i can find/buy this kind of body, he said that the person (who happened to be australian) said it was about $100. a million thanks.

Sounds like a Mod-Job to me. Does you little Brother know which iPod Generation it was I think we can safely dismiss the Mini as Tranparent Aluminium (as seen on / in ST), has yet to be invented...
My guess is that it was a Gen 1 or 2 as getting to the Plastic 'Shell' is not to difficult I think IIRC it's held in ba Six Torx-5 Screws remove the Mainboard and use something like Brasso to gently remove the Paint Layer. I used this technique to clean the 'Jewl' on my XBOX before carving out the underlineing Plastic to make my Lighted Jewl Window on my XBOX.

That link still works. It looks cool. I *DO* remember something like this in the news (or was it some website?) - where a group of Mac enthusiast take appart several Apple computers and really jazz them up, fitted them with clear plastics mould, or in that website, spray paint them with different colours. It's pretty cool.
I would love to see a clear iPod.

As for a clear mini body, I don't know where anyone got that idea from...

I was thinking when I saw this thread that the iPod may be the same as the iBook. I did some research on modding my iBook and all you do to remove the color is take it apart and use rubbing alcohol to disolve the paint. I have a busted 3G and I just might try that.

As to the reference to the Clear Mini (e.g. Transparent Aluminimum), I was being a jerk to make reference to the ST (Star Trek Universe), All those 'Windows' on the Enterprise are soposed to be made from Transparent Aluminimum. See ST: V 'The Voyage Home'. Since this is total BS! I kinda dissed off as such. I thought People would get the ST refference...
As for the http://www.applefritter.com/hacks/tronbook URL I'm getting a 404 I can't even access the Root / Homepage. Lucky Google had a cache of it though...
