Hi All,
I'm new here, so hope you can help me. I'm probably asking an obvious question, but I just want reassurance and maybe more ideas on an in car solution. I've just bought a car with an Auxiliary input, so can finally ditch the fm transmitter! I'm looking for something that will charge the ipod, and have a line out (using the 30 pin connector not the headphone output) to the cars aux input. There doesn't seem to be many products around that do it (not that I can find anyway!) I have seen the monster icharger (sorry can't post links yet), but was hoping someone had used it and could comment on audio quality. I have an 160Gb ipod classic, and a ford focus, is that makes any difference. Thanks, Dom |

I recommend getting the SendStation PocketDock. It has true line level output (you won't be able to adjust the volume with whatever iDevice you have) and you can charge the iPod. The only negative aspect is that you will have to purchase a separate USB charger along with USB cable.
All-in-all, the setup is about $37 but really worth it. I have tried many, many different all-in-one solutions and they never had true line level output. I always had to fidget with my iPod's volume and balance it out with the stereo. I had an older version of the Monster iCharger that did that along with another adapter from Griffen, Belkin, and a few others. The PocketDock is the only one I have used that has true line level output across various iDevices including (but not limited to) the 7G iPod nano, 160GB iPod classic (2009), iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and the 4G iPod touch. It will work with any iDevice except the 1G iPod mini, 2G iPod mini, every iPod shuffle, 3G iPod, 2G iPod, and 1G iPod.
