IPhone 4 - IPod classic connectors

I have an iPod classic 80 GB since 2007. I bougth a cable that allows me to stream the music from my iPod to my Pioneer car radio.

Now I would like to use the same cable for my iPhone 4, however it doesn't work. It seems that apple changed some pins in the connector. Is that possibile?

Do you know a solution for having my iPhone 4 working as well my iPod? Maybe a simple connector adapter?

Thanks

What exactly is not working?

The only thing that has really changed in the dock connector is in the devies themselves. Over time Apple has stopped adding the circuits in their devices that allow charging with the 12v Firewire standard opting to support the more popular 5v USB standard only. Therefore newer iPods and iPhones will not charge with some older accessories. There are adapters available that will convert older accessories with only the 12v voltage to the newer 5v standard.

If you are having issues with controlling or playback chances are the stereo's firmware does not support newer iPods/iPhones. The only fix here would be to check with Pioneer to see if your stereo allows you to update it's firmware and have offered an update.

Probably this is why I cannot charge the iPhone, right?

Where can I found them? Do you have a link please?

I don't think it's a problem of firmware because the stereo just see the iPod as an AUX input. It doesn't allow me to change the songs or set the volume. It just receives the music.

Could it be that since the iPhone is receiving a wrong power, doesn't send the music on the output pins?
