broken speakers, is it worth repairing them?

Hi, I'm a newbie to the website and generally rubbish with technology so I apologise if this is a really simple question, but basically, I was given some ipod dock speakers for my birthday n basically someone tripped on the wire and they fell off a table so the part the ipod plugs in to on the speakers snapped off. I was just wondering if it's possible and financially worth it to get it reattached or generally fixed as I absolutely love the speakers (they're a unique design and will cost £80 for a replacement) and am gutted that they've broken so shortly after receiving them. I couldn't find an answer on google so have resorted to asking forums and would really appreciate any help or advice anyone could give, thanks

You may want to contact the manufacturer of the speaker system to see how much an out of warranty repair will cost. It might be a lot less than buying a whole new set. It wouldn't be wise to repair them yourself as that would require disassembly and soldering. Other than doing an out of warranty repair, you would be better off replacing it.

On the other hand, you may repair the speakers and then sell them and buy yourself a new pair of speakers? How about that? I did the same to one of my device!
