The Vizio soundbar with the wireless subwoofer is just OK. The thing should sound a whole lot better for its price ($250+) but, unfortunately, it doesn't. The whole wireless subwoofer thing (not only from Vizio but others) is also more of a gimmick simply because the position of the subwoofer doesn't matter. It can be up front with the soundbar or off to the side as bass has no directionality, it simply sounds and you hear it (unlike the mids and highs).
For a little more (at a total price of $300, the same price of the Vizio unit if you buy it from Walmart but $50 if you bought the Vizio from Amazon), Sony offers their HTC 350 solution. It doesn't have a wireless subwoofer but it has three HDMI inputs, one HDMI output (for audio/video passthrough), one or two digital optical audio inputs, one digital coaxial input, two RCA inputs, and it is a lot more powerful than the Vizio model (at 400 watts RMS, the subwoofer has a built-in amp). Sony even sells an iPod/iPhone dock for it, the system works with DTS-HD MA lossless 5.1/7.1 audio, Dolby True HD 5.1/7.1, LPCM 2.0/2.1/5.1/7.1, Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS audio right out of the box. The Vizio only works with analog audio inputs.
