Skullcandy Warranty

Im going to buy some new Skulls, but of course I hear the horror stories of them being flimsy. I have friends with them, one extremly clumsy who has partially broke his and the other whose neat and tidy whose are fine, so this doesnt bother me too much, but I hear if they break due to something being the faulty machines fault or heavy listening means you get a discount/refund on them. Does this count if I buy them new from Amazon?

If the seller is Amazon, then Amazon would replace them. The warranty is up 1 year. If the seller is someone else, sold through Amazon, you should contact them to see if they will cover the warranty that Skullcandy has.

Skullcandy, in my opinion, very sturdy. I gave a pair to a 9 year old when he got a shuffle for his birthday. He has had them for three years with no problems.

Brilliant, thanks a lot for that.

And yes, I've a friend who uses him every other day in the same way i'll use mine and he's not broke his and he's had them for a year and they are perfectly fine.

Actually, I asked a Skullcandy sales representative, as long as they are a legit Skullcandy product, they are covered under Skullcandy's lifetime warranty(:

Thumbs down Skullcandy's are cheap crap

I just have to put in my 2 cents here. I am now on my 4th pair of Skullcandy FMJ earbuds. Their sound is EXCELLENT. However, they are cheaply manufactured China crap. I don't use them in any manner that would be considered dangerous or reckless. I use them on my commute and sometimes just sitting at my desk at work. My first pair lasted just under a year. Then one bud simply died. I utilized the lifetime warranty, had to go 2 weeks without earbuds and when the new pair arrived, out of the box they were defective; the in-line mic/button didn't work. So, I put them back in the mail and went another 2 weeks without earbuds. The third pair lasted a couple of months before the wire connection at the jack went bad. This time, I called Skullcandy and asked if I could just get my money back. I was no longer satisfied with their products and their life-time warranty was now much more of a hassle that just provided me with more crap, rather than keeping me a happy customer. They refused and I was forced to send back my earbuds for a 3rd time. I sent them back and went yet another 2 weeks without earbuds. This 4th pair came out of the box with the in-line mic's casing detached and sliding down the cord and each channel, left and right, need a good flicking to get the sound back when it decides to just cut out. I won't be utilizing Skullcandy's warranty anymore. They win and can keep my money. They really have no idea how much money it's actually cost them with each piece of crap they've sent me. I'm planning on spending my money on a quality product that has more than a spunky "hardcore" marketing image to stand on. The search goes on.
