Need Help - Best In Ear Headphones Under $100

Hi all,

I'm in search of a new pair of in ear noise isolating headphones under $100. My requirements are very limited as it is for general listening use only; but I would like a clear crisp sound without extreme bass as I do have sensitive ears. Most of my listenings are of Rock, Folk and Hip-Hop.

I've read numerous reviews but have not been able to test many myself. A few that I have narrowed it down to and the prices I have found are:

Shure SE115 - $65 (Not sure how the over the ear connection will feel)
Etymotic ER6i - $70
Etymotic HF5 - $110 (yes, I know about the $100 range)
Monster Beats by Dr. Dre - $80 (I actually have tried these before and am not too bothered by the long ear piece and do like the cord)

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The Klipsch IMAGE S4i Premium Noise-Isolating Headset w/3-button Apple control looks good.

Get some Koss UR40 Headphones, the UR40 features dynamic elements for a wide frequency response from 15-22,000

Head Direct RE-0 should fall within your range (last I checked it was about $99). This is a summary of my impression of them from many many reviews:

From what I gather they are not what you would expect from something made in China by yet another Chinese company popping up out of nowhere. They are not too flimsy and audio quality is well above par for the cost. Nice and even frequency response, definitely not too bass-heavy.

Of your initial preferences, I reccommend against choosing that particular Shure model, you can do better for the same price.

I hear the Ety H5 and 6i are comparable to the ER-4P, which I absolutely love. Other than that I suggest you read reviews...a lot of reviews, and do your best to ignore the BS. Trying out the headphones yourself first would be more ideal than every review on the internet but it's unlikely you know many people with mid-range headphones.

Would like to chime in on this one. The Ultimate Ears MetroFi.170 goes for about $45 on Amazon and outperforms the V-Moda Vibes in pretty much every respect except for maybe soundstage.

If you are looking for inexpensive in-ears that sound awesome I would heartily recommend these.

Oh and if you are looking for something with nice bass and a very good cord I can recommend the Monster Beats Tour by Dr. Dre in your initial list, they sound really good and the cord is a god send, no tangles!

iPhone 3G 16GB, iPod Nano 2G 8GB
V-Moda Vibes, Bose IE Triports, Bose OE Triports, Sennheiser HD212 Pro, Logitech Freepulse, Ultimate Ears Metro.Fi 170, Triple.Fi 10, Audio Technica M50, AKG K81 DJ, Monster Turbines, Grado SR60i, NuForce UF30, Beyer DT770
