bluetooth keyboard for iphone 3G ??

Saw an Ebay listing for a full size bluetooth keyboard that they claimed would work with an iphone, but i can't find any reference to any kind of keyboard in these forums. any info on using a keyboard (bluetooth or wired) with an iphone would be appreciated. [and if it's not possible, why the H*LL not?] Here's a link to the EBay listing.

My hunch is that the EBay listing is BS. But I'd appreciate some feedback from the IPhone cognoscenti in these forums confirming the hunch.

It might be a perfectly good Bluetooth keyboard for other devices, but the seller is misrepresenting the fact that it will work with the iPhone. The iPhone itself doesn't provide any built-in support for Bluetooth keyboards and the SDK doesn't allow for hardware drivers. A developer could theoretically write a single app that works with a Bluetooth keyboard, but it would only work in that particular application.

It would be theoretically possible for somebody to write a Bluetooth keyboard driver for a hacked/jailbroken iPhone, but I'm not aware of any such solutions.

If it only worked with a single app -- Safari -- I and thousands of other traditional typists would scarf those keyboards up like crazy. I'd even settle for a plugged in keyboard. - DeeGee

Sadly, that's the one app that it would probably never work with unless Apple builds in Bluetooth keyboard support.

The Safari browser is a native app built-in to the iPhone, and would therefore need to be re-written by Apple to provide support for external keyboards. I don't see that happening any time soon -- if ever.

The MSI BK100 supports Palm OS, Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 6, as well as Symbian S60 and UIQ OS. Will it help?
