Sony Mdr-ex082?

Anyone use these? (SONY MDR-EX082)

These are apparently the ones that come with the new Sony Walkman MP3/video player which a lot of people are saying "sounds better than IPod". I figured it was because of the earbuds so I ordered a pair for like $15 from China, though they cost around $40 if you get them from Sony here in the U.S.

Just wondering if anyone has tried them, or listened to the Sony Walkman. I liked the Sony Walkman but bought IPod instead because of the much better gig-per-dollar ratio of the Ipod Classic.

they are good, and definitely better than what comes with the ipod.
the walkmans sound quality is very high

that being said, 15 dollars from china... i have a feeling you bought worthless knock offs. china has a massive problem with counterfeits. they are also found on ebay where there are tons of fakes being sold. any cheap deals on relatively costly headphones from china always set off red flags. and from what i've read they never sound anything like they are supposed to.

the sony has great sound quality but the small things are a bother. no good way of organizing music. no folder for podcasts/audiobooks so it shuffles it all together which is really stupid.

some info on fakes from a quick google. the chinese are getting a bit ridiculous on this kinda stuff. unless you buy headphones from a reputable retailer..you can almost garrantee they are fake these days. ebays become rather useless.

seems my other post dissapeared? odd forum.

the 82's have good quality sound, a little bass heavy at times, but if used for an ipod that makes up for some difficiencys. walkmans have good sound. but bugs aren't worked out. no audio book directory or podcast directory. Its important since its drag and drop and so everything is organized manually. if you turn on shuffle or time machine shuffle it includes your books and podcasts! pretty stupid really. i have a 726 walkman, good sound and headphones but the little problems bug me.

Thanks for the info.
I have not seen nor heard these Sony MDR-EX082's anywhere except these ebay ones, so I cannot say for sure if they are genuine Sony or not. It appears they COULD be what they are said to be: direct from factory but without retail packaging.

Check out the page on ebay and give me your feedback, especially if you have a pair of these so you can compare the photos with the U.S. Sony product.

The ones I received are exactly like the photos on the ebay page:

At first I didn't think they sounded too good but after I experimented with getting them into my ears the right way, now I think they sound good, and are more comfortable than any other earbuds I've tried yet.

Wish I knew for sure whether or not they were genuine Sony or sounded as good. Some day maybe I'll run into someone who has the ones that came with the Sony Walkman and I can compare.

I will say this: they sound a helluva lot better than the any other $18 earbuds I've ever heard, and they sound better than the IPod Classic buds, even with the added flanges I added to them (which made them sound a whole lot better).

made in Thailand?

its possible they are real, they look like mine. but they are getting pretty good so who knows. its certainly easier to knock off 82's than 90s which are completely metal.

While hard to believe they are real (and I've decided they really don't sound that great, though they sound decent), they certainly do look real, and the seller has tons of positive feedback on them, no one #####ing that they are fakes...

So who knows? Some day I'll try a real pair and see if they sound better or worse.
In any case I don't particularly like these that I got. They take more juice than the IPod buds to run them at the same volume, and they just don't sound great.
