jbl on stage 200iD nano 3g problem

anyone out there driving their 3rd gen nano with a jbl on stage 200iD? sounds great, looks great...problem is: it cuts out on occasion. it's not a skip...just stops playing for several seconds, then comes back. i'm using the ipod adapter, the one for nano is obviously not for 3 gen nano - seems like it's seated in there solid - i will probably return for diff unit if it persists.

just a quick update - i returned the unit to best buy, got a new one, works like a charm! appears i got a lemon. anyway, i'm really happy with the sound on the JBL 200i...compares very favorable to the Athena iVoice my son has.

I am having the same problem. I get a random volume drop or cut out on the JBL On Stage 200iD - for iPod and iPhone. I searched through multiple sites and forums and found no other discussions.

I will be sending mine back for replacement and will repost any success

I just purchased the jbl 200id and agree it has great sound. At home, I used my iPod nano with it and all was working fine. Receintly, I brought my 200id to work, docked my iPod nano and started having problems with the sound cutting in and out. I suspected the infrared remote receiver was the issue. The 200id is sitting on my desk near my laser (infrared) mouse. To test this, I turned on my music and covered the 200id with my jacket to block any infrared signals. That solved the problem. When I unblock the IR receiver (along the base of the unit) the problem comes back.

Looks like jbl has a problem with the IR receiver filtering out IR noise for the 200id.

If you're having problems, check for other IR producing devices near by like a laser mouse and turn them off or shield the unit to see if that solves the problem.
