best headphones similar to bose qc2

hi everyone,

I am looking to purchase a new pair of headphones. I am currently using the shure e3c earbuds and love them. There is nothing wrong with them, but I am looking to purchase a set of headphones like the bose qc2. I know many people here would not recommend bose because they are way too overpriced compared to everything else. I am looking to spend around $250 on these headphones and wanted to know some alternatives to the bose quiet comfort 2's? also... i am looking for headphones, not earbuds like the shures.

thanks for all of your help,
ipaqman

Try on http://www.head-fi.org/

i think you can go with Beyerdynamic DT880 or Audio-Technic ATH-A900 and the grado´s

I personally love the QC-II's with the Nano and 5G iPod. I've read many folks take shots at the Bose product line, but I'm in the camp that really likes them. On recommendations from others, I purchased the Grado SR80 with the impression they would kick the snot out of the QC-II. The contest was not even close. The QC-II blew the Grado's away in every aspect, not to mention the fact that people standing next to me could not hear my music with the QC-II like they could with the SR80's. If you can afford the QC-II go for it.

If I was going to get noise canceling headphones I'd get these.....

I don't see value in the Bose, but I'm not bashing them either. I just question durability and lack of balance; being very, very warm sounding to me. If they were $100 less, I wouldn't be a critic.

I second the head-fi recomendation...........
