List your headphone stash.

I'm one of the sick people on head-fi who suffer from headphone upgraditis.

My current stash of headphones.

Grado SR225 (reference, home use)
Grado SR60 (office use)
Etymotics ER-4S (commuting and when work environment is noisy)
Etymotics ER-6i (not being used, probably going to my wife)
Shure E3C (possibly for sale, don't know yet, maybe I'll keep them as workout cans)
Sennheiser PX-100 (computer use)
Sennheiser HD-497 (up for sale)
Sony MDR EX70 (not being used)

I really should make an attempt at selling the ones I don't use as much

What do you guys have?

My stash:

Shure E2c
Sony MDR-EX51LP (with Sumajin smartwrap)
Sony MDR-E828 (think Apple stock earbud style, complete with a wind-up case!)
Apple stock (for when I just have to show off the white cord, which is...hardly ever.)

The ones worth noting..

Sennheiser HD201
Sennheiser HD580 with HD650 grilles
AKG K501
Etymotic ER6
Panasonic RP-HJE50
Sennheiser MX400
Grado SR-60 transducers in makeshift assembly
Koss KSC-35

It might seem like a lot, but half of them set me back only $15-25 apiece, and I probably won't have those for much longer (I like to try the latest <$25 flavor of the month, then give it to someone who needs a pair of headphones).

BTW, Mike, I have to ask: why use your 570 at home and your 580 at work?

Senn HD 650 (home theater/stereo)
Senn HD 595 (gaming, listening on computers)
Grado 325i (travel, on the go, portable gaming)
2 "meh" Sony Reference Series headphones in the $70-$100 range (never use them anymore)
8 pairs of earbuds
Several other head/earphones from Walkman's, Diskman's, and other DAT's

Sometime next month my wife will do my ear mold impressions and I'll be buying a pair of UE-10 Pros.

That is an excellent question I ask myself all the time. I have an excellent home set-up with a tube amp and sacd player. At work, its iTunes and the computer's headphone output. I SHOULD switch the phones and keep the 580s with the better system.

But, the difference is really listening time. I listen 5-7 hours a day at work. I listen at home to maybe 2-3 cds a week. Even with the low-end system, I notice a difference and prefer the 580s. Since I'm doing most of the listening at work, its where the 580s stay. Plus, when driven by the tube amp, the 570s are actually damn nice.

That make sense Mike....I have my SR60's at work, and my SR225's at home. I listen to my office cans at least 4 hours a day, and also have my SR225's collecting dust (relatively) at home.

So it would seem I should actually invest more into my office system.

For you, it might be worth investing in a external DAC and amp to clean up your office system's sound. With that, it might be *better* that what you are getting at home out of your home setup.

I use 128 AACs though. I don't feel its worth it to buy more equipment or re-rip to a better res. I do use this iTunes plug-in, which does help quite a bit:

At work, its really about having background music to keep the day moving. At home is where I really 'listen'.

MikeM, thanks for this plug-in! The sound is much better with it, I plan to buy it.

Um... what I use. I have more but it would be tiresome to list'em.

Stax Omega II (home)
Sony Qualia 010 (general knockabout phones)
Sennheiser HD25-1 (portable specific)
Sennheiser PX200 (secondary portable specific)
Audio-Technica ATH-EM7 (third portable specific, weedy but cool earclips)
Audio-Technica ATH-W2002 (PC use when puny air-con is on and not being overwhelmed by the recent temps... too hot otherwise to wear)

My air/portable in-ears are undecided at the moment. I'm upgrading. Whicih reminds me, I have to put the For Sales in here

On the rare occasions that I'm sitting down at the office, I don't use phones. There's a speaker rig behind me.

Mine's pretty small:

2x Shure E2c's.

My first pair were used so much (for a reason mind you) that they developed fatigue where the cable bends around the ear. The cable eventually cracked, bringing the sound with it.
