Right,

So I have had my 4G ipod for about a year. The other day I plugged it in to my computer and my computer tells me there has been a power surge on a usb port and I smell burning coming from my ipod so i unplug it. I tried plugging it in to a mains outlet and a battery exclamation icon came up. Nothing else happened, so i assumed it needed a replacement battery which i fitted earlier today. Still no joy, when i plug it in to my PC nothing happens and when i plug it in to the mains i still get the battery exclamation icon.

Any help much appreciated.
