I've been reading the feedback at different websites and it is not good at all. They do have a negative report with the BBB as well.

I've heard mixed reviews about the company Battery Geek and their products. Theres talks that they google their name and salt the forums with fake postive reviews... So my question is if you actually bought a geekpod battery, and if so, what was your experience, with performance and especially customer service?

Is this the info you were referring to seeing about the 'false positive' reviews? There are companys that do it to see their product. This company has bad customer service and the posts I found people rec'd defective batteries and had to send them back.

You will have to purchase from them at your own risk though I wouldn't advise you to deal with these people at all. If you want a battery that you can get good charge time and leave the iPod in the case then you can use one of the BTI batteries and just take the plate that holds the iPod off and leave it off. I have this one by them and use it with my 4G & 5G iPods w/o the plate that holds the 3G iPod. It's the first one they came out with but it is heavier than the BTI battery II they have now but get more charge time (3 days). I only use it at home since it is heavier.
If you decide to by-pass buying from them you can use this and take the plate off to use only the battery and your case. The belt clip also comes off:
