hey im a new user. i just bought an ipod shuffle and im sort of confused with the charging routine.

when im using the computer the amber light is on and i think its charging but when im not using the computer and it goes to sleep mode than the amber light is blinking and im not sure what it is doing. is it charging? because if its charging why would it be blinking?
im using an ibook with the shuffle.

if the computer is not on and the shuffle is plugged in, is it still charging?
