I got my fiance a white 4GB yesterday morning and gave it to her today. She is EXACTLY the type of target consumer Apple is going for- she has a decent but not huge music collection, she wants something she can work out with and KNOW it won't give her any moving parts problems, and she wants it to be small but still have a screen. Sure the Mini did indeed fit most of those requirements, but she still felt they were too big and didn't care for the styling. The shuffle was out due to lack of storage and screen- the nano is what I have been waiting for Apple to make to get her.
We've been playing with it a bit today and it is indeed incredible- partly b/c this is the first ipod either of us have owned and partly b/c Apple has come out with a GREAT product.
I will wait until next year for myself, when they come out with higher capacity nanos- but I guarantee you it will be a nano as opposed to another model (and I LOVE the regular iPods).
To all those who got one as well, enjoy- and be careful until the cases start coming out!!
