I am wondering how well the 60GB iPod Photo performs as a portable hard disk.

I obviously want to use it for MP3s, but also for transporting files and maybe keeping a backup of my data on.

If I copy data to it, can I simply plug it into the USB port of any PC and retrieve that data or would I need to install drivers/software?
