Okay, so I went to change the songs on my Shuffle today, and looking at the playcounts, there were some songs that had played twice, some three times, and one that have played 4 times!? What gives?
I was assuming that as soon as you plugg in the Shuffle, that that might "reset" where it was and you could get repeats (I noticed repeats after I plugged it back in after 1 or 2 days of use). But, the thing does track the playcount, so why doesn't it just play songs with a zero playcount? Duh.
I did also plug it into another computer to charge it. The computer did not have iTunes on it so I figured it wouldn't reset there and play repeats again, but I guess it does reset it then too.
So I can see how some songs might have been played 3 times, but why on earth would a song have played 4 times?? Does it just forget what songs it's already played after you shut it off? That's just silly if that's the case.
Do I need to add fresh songs every night so that I won't have to hear a song repeat? That's ridiculous. I guess I may just have to add all new songs every week to minimize the amount of repeats I hear. I was hoping to go 3 weeks between updating it since I work out 1 hr a day, 5 days a week times 3 weeks would be 15 hours and I have over 15 hours of music on it. I guess not.
Has anyone else experienced repeating songs?

I have experienced this.. in fact.. if you play those songs in order, those songs taht didn't play during random will also NOT play if you play in order
please check the ipod shuffle skipping songs thread..
i left a message there as well..
