Looking at the thread title, I thought you had another Sony in mind and I was about to congratulate you for using an MDR-R10 from an iPod and was about to ask if you used it portably
Yes, the V6 are good phones for portable use. Reasonably detailed, nearly indestructible, works well out of the iPod. Soundwise, it's not a $200 closed phone but it's versatile.
