With no real gaps for hot air to escape from and encased in a thick metal and plastik jacket it seems possible for a ipod to overheat. Could this heat "problem" cause any deficancies to the battery or hard drive life But once i stopped coppying it did cool down rapidly but still the screen and battery area stayed hot....
I'd suggest taking the iPod out of the case prior to syncing a large number of music files onto the iPod. For smaller syncs it won't matter, but for 2,000 music files I would recommend it.
