Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I have been amped up about this new iPod for weeks. I have been saving and am ready to buy. Before doing so I have been on this forum learning. I currently run OS 10.1.5. Well apparently this is sufficient for an iPod but I need 10.2.8+ for iPod photo. Upon inquiring if they would upgrade my OS 10.1.5 to Jaguar for free since I was dropping $500+ on the iPod photo, they said "sorry, you need to pay for the upgrade". They should be giving Jaguar away, especially since Tiger is to release soon.

Lastly, after speaking with a friend, she said that not only do I need Jaguar or Panther to run iPod photo properly; but I need Iphoto 4.7. And wouldnt you know that its not a free download- I have to buy Ilife.

Dont get me wrong I love my mac, and I appreciate the free downloads I have benefited from in the past. I am angry though that I have spend money on software upgrades to buy this new iPod photo. If I had a PC would have I these other issues to using iPod photo? It will #### me off if a PC user can go in and buy a iPod photo, take it home and run it without having to buy additional software or upgrades. Shoulnt being a mac user give me a buying edge over being a PC user?

I am seeking some help from this forum, anyone that knows how to get jaguar or iphoto 4.7 for free. anyone that has had similar barriers to entering the ipod photo world. anyone that will help me complete my obsession over the last few weeks.
