Call me a fanboy because I do admit I am. I trust Apple when it comes to discontinuing support for older hardware. Yes it still pi**es me off however software, such a flash on PC's, which can bring underpowered hardware to it's knees annoys me even more. Apple is all about the "experience", substandard hardware will result in a bad experience. I already see some apps start to really work my iPhone 4 which can cause stalls. I sure would like turn by turn directions on my iPhone 4, but I would like the turn announced before the turn.

The mobile platform is quite young yet which for the most part is limited by battery technology which dictates the processors used. If you want a reasonable battery life you must have a conservative processor. If you overpower a small processor you have bad experience with a high drain on the battery. I believe it will be a few years yet before smart phones will start to come inline with PCs where the processor is way more powerful than most software can push it.
