Have had occasional shutdown issues in past (this is Windows after all...) but since recently started using iTunes with our iPhones have noticed that the issue happens nearly all the time after an iTunes session.
Windows will hang at "saving settings" and the p.c. has to be forcibly powered off.
iTunes is clearly introducing a new problem or winding-up an existing one.
