I assume the Kindle can be charged from a laptop port? Then the charger should work with an ipod. I will go out on a limb and say the worst that could happen would be that it would say "charger incompatible" or that it just wouldn't charge. I have a car charger that will charge a touch 1g but not my touch 3g. All my other chargers charge both.
