1. Depends on the navigation system you have, if it can handle the type of bluetooth profile needed to stream music. Check to make sure it's A2DP compatible. If it is you can buy a simple bluetooth unit for your ipod that attaches to the base. I had a Sony TMR-BT8iP that worked great and I hear the Scosche one is good, too.
2. I don't know much about lossless bluetooth (sounds great though), but a standard A2DP connection will add some background static to your music. I had a dual BT/AUX setup in my last audio system, and the BT was weaker, but the added background static was only noticable at high volumes, when the music itself was paused. I doubt you'd notice it at all if you were running off just a factory stock headunit.
