you've actually told me exactly what i was hoping to hear. the audio quality of the earpiece was a mystifying disappointment for me. i couldn't understand how apple had gotten something as basic as that so wrong. the speakerphone is unusable by any measure. Most people seemed to gloss over this detail and trumpet the iPhone as flawless. As much as i like every other aspect of the iPhone, once i started avoiding using my cellphone even when it was free, i knew i needed to find a substitute. knowing that the new iphone can be my old iphone substitute makes me happy.
