I have used the service many times already and have not recieved any spam messages. Also we are talking about using this web app for the iPod touch so there is no way a person can send someone a text message to an iPod touch. So I am really confused about your comment. Maybe you were just thinking of the iPhone users. Most web apps are free by the way and there is no catch on most of them. If there is a catch they usually tell you up front and ask for payment.

Edit: I think you maybe thinking also of the from: field in the text message...which I checked doesnt have to be a cell phone or telephone number you can just put your name in that field. So need to disclose your cell phone number.
