Recently loaded music won't play.

Hello all.. So I've had my new 160GB Classic for a couple months now and this is the first problem that's really stumped me.
Today i loaded in some new music to the Itunes library. Nothing unusual really. Synced it up and it all appears in the Classic as you would expect.
However, if I try to play any of it (and we're talking 6 different artists, totalling about 40 albums) whether it's from the playlist i built or just accessing it through artist or album, it won't play. Strangely, it displays the title/artist of the track most recently played, lists a track length of 0:00, and says it's number "1 of 0".
The odd thing is that it's only the certain items. All other music plays just fine.
Any thoughts?
