Oh and Audrey, it can't be the firmware since I then upgraded and downgraded to every different version (I didn't know firmware could break it anyway. It was the correct model, it did a scan) and none of them helped. I literally used every firmware and nothing. 0,1,2,3,4,5,6 and all of them were the same.

On your computer go to 'Start>Control Panel>Performance & Maintenance' and look to the left & you'll see 'System Restore'. Click on it and follow the instructions. When you get to the calendar just set it back to a time period when the drive was working.
